The Cultural Department of Padova has long been promoting contemporary jewelry, culminating in important exhibitions like “Emmy Van Leersum”, “Mario Pinton: Goldsmithing”, “Giampaolo Babetto”, “Diego Piazza: Sculptor Goldsmith”, “American Jewelry 1940-1960”, “Bruno Martinazzi: Gold and Stone”, and “European Jewelry”, “Robert Smit: The Empty House”, “Padua-Vienna: Four Stations”, “Gerd Rothmann: The Magic Touch”, “Mikromegas”, and the series “Precious Thoughts”, which started in 2005 and has now reached its 18th edition.
These major exhibitions aim to promote Padova as an international center of contemporary jewelry.
The contemporary goldsmith art exhibitions are usually held in the Oratorio di San Rocco, a two-story building constructed by the Confraternity of San Rocco between 1525 and 1542, housing a cycle of frescoes depicting the life of the saint by significant painters from Padova.
The City of Padova has organized the 18th edition of “Precious Thoughts” as a collective exhibition showcasing the works of goldsmith artists: Roy Andersson, Riccoboni, Speckner, Uderzo, Vagi.
The exhibition is curated by Ms. Mirella Cisotto.

Barbara Uderzo’s Jewelry. Material, Color, Play, Irony: The Courage of Free Creativity. On display is the artistic journey of the artist born in Vicenza, who operates internationally, starting from 1990 to her most recent creations in 2023 titled “Chromatic Densities”.
