“HAMMER AND CHISEL TO CREATE YOUR SIGNET RING”

A new Sunday session to create a signet ring — either with an antique or contemporary feel, according to your taste!
The workshop begins with a short guided tour of the new exhibition at the Museo del Gioiello, focusing on historical examples of Italian signet rings.
Starting from a pre-shaped alpacca metal sheet, participants will fold and form an adjustable ring with a flat top, which they will engrave or emboss using small chisels. The results will then be tested with sealing wax.
Participants are advised to bring an envelope for sealing.

“CREATE AND DECORATE THE SURFACE OF YOUR BRACELET”

A second session to gain practical experience in metalworking and chasing tools.
The workshop begins with a look at different examples of bracelets displayed in the museum galleries.
Participants will create a rigid metal bracelet known as a slave bangle.
Using various chasing tools, they will decorate the surface with basic patterns and experiment with textures.
The final result will be a bracelet enriched by handcrafted decorative details.

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create and personalize a pair of coral earrings.
Within the renewed museum layout, various examples of jewelry will be presented — from ancient pieces to contemporary creations.
Participants will learn how to craft hook-style earring clasps from stainless-steel wire, or they can opt to use pre-made hooks.
They will then choose from a selection of fine Mediterranean coral elements to create a unique pair of lucky charm earrings to wear.

“CREATE A BROOCH WITH A SILVER LEAF FINISH”

This workshop includes an exploration of the museum’s brooch collection, representing different eras and styles.
Participants will then craft a brooch with a magnetic clasp.
Starting from a synthetic base in a creative shape, they’ll add small decorative elements — such as gemstones, glass, or other materials — composing a personal and original design.
The surface will be covered with pure silver leaf, turning the idea into a one-of-a-kind piece ready to wear.

“FROM IDEA TO JEWEL: CREATE YOUR NECKLACE WITH A PEARL”
Creative workshop for adults at Vicenza Jewelry Museum led by Barbara Uderzo.

Participants will have the chance to create a necklace under the guidance of expert Barbara Uderzo.
During the visit, the group will observe examples of ancient and contemporary Italian jewelry.
Each participant can select a freshwater pearl from various sizes and shapes.
After examining aluminum necklace models that showcase different creative possibilities, participants will design and craft their own piece using basic goldsmithing techniques to shape the metal wire and set the chosen pearl.
At the end of the session, each participant will leave wearing their handmade necklace.

Each participant will select a gemstone — such as amethyst, malachite, carnelian, jasper, or tiger’s eye — and, using aluminum wire and other metal materials, will be guided through the process of shaping the band and setting the stone.
Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, different mounting and finishing techniques will be explored to ensure a perfect stone setting and a distinctive, personalized jewel.
