GIOIELLI IN FERMENTO – CARAGLIO
SATURDAY JUNE 16th AT 16.30h
INAUGURATION OF EXHIBITIONS “DIALOGHI DI FILI” AND “GIOIELLI IN FERMENTO SELECTION”
@ Filatoio Rosso di Caraglio (XVI century Weaving Museum, Cuneo, Italy)
June 16 / July 7 – 2018
From room to room, we pass from the wire to the jewel entering a world that is always “in turmoil” and looking for new and attractive codes that results in the elaboration of refined and unique pieces. The exhibition GIOIELLI IN FERMENTO SELECTION, which will remain at the Filatoio di Caraglio until July 7, offers 50 selected pieces of the collection of works by Italian and international artists, both established and emerging, who participated in the namesake competition on jewelry.
Among the exhibited works there will also be three creations of jewels realized within the Bgr Workshop, a course focused on contemporary jewelry as “wearable sculpture that moves in space” which was attended by the students of the IAAD of Turin, the Accademia Albertina and of the Academy of Brera. The Workshop was carried out within the framework of the SeVeC project that combines the Filatoio di Caraglio, the Museum of Glass and Crystals of Chiusa Pesio and the Museum of Ceramics of Mondovì and was conducted by the Vicenza artist Barbara Uderzo and the glass artisan by candlelight Patricia Lamoroux. The creations on display, rings on food and wine, were chosen by a technical jury composed by the art historian Nichka Marobin, the creator and curator of Fermento Jewels Eliana Negroni and the owner of the art gallery Creativity Objects of Turin Susanna Maffini .
The exhibition at the Filatoio di Caraglio, open until September 30th, is part of the program of the Tramanda textile exhibition and of the celebrations held on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Trame d’Autore Civic Collection, created to focus attention on the secular Chierese textile tradition through the work of international artists engaged in their research with the language of Fiber Art.
